THE SCARIEST MONSTER I'VE EVER SEEN
By Alex One dark Halloween night in 2001, the scariest monsters walked the streets while witches and goblins roamed the air, laughing their cackling laughs. An owl hooted up in the top of a slender tall tree. Monster mother and monster father ran to keep up with their little monster who was running in his costume, collecting candy door to door. I was dressed up as a human. My brother always copies me on Halloween so he was a human, too. But anyway, this was only the start of when I started seeing the scariest monster I have ever seen.
My brother Harry Monster, my Mom, my Dad, and I were running to the last group of haunted houses when I saw it out of the corner of my eye. Something moved in the bushes. I rummaged through the bushes. Nothing was there. I tried to forget it but I could not. My family and I were at the last haunted house when I saw it again, except this time it was closer than before.
It was creeping closer, but then it started to run away. I darted after him, but only to find he had run into the not so haunted house. I was scared. I heard something behind me. I turned around to see my friend Barry. I did not want to tell him I was scared because he has been known to be a blabber mouth and I could almost hear the kids at school saying that I was a scaredy-pants. Barry came up to me and said, "What are you doing?" I didn’t answer. I just walked towards the not so haunted house. I could hear Barry saying, "Let me come in too just in case something happens to you." We started into the house. I could barely see Barry’s green scaly skin and sharp pointy triangles going from his head to the tip of his tail. Barry and I walked as slowly as a snail, but with a smooth pace.
We walked through a windy hall. I came to a room with something soft and comfortable to sit on. On the side of the soft thing it said, "couch" and on the "couch" there was an odd remote control. I picked it up and touched one of the 50 buttons. Suddenly, a bright light came on and there was a human in a box. Barry said he had seen one of these before and it was called a TV. What a funny name! We walked into the next room which had a white rectangle in it. I dared to open it. Finally, I got the courage to open it. Then I saw it again. This time I pretended not to see it. It came closer. I heard Barry yell and run away. The thing ran away. I stayed in front of the rectangle, gaining courage. I opened it, and a sudden cold breeze came out of it. It was filled with food and drinks. I was hungry, but I would not eat that food. I eat bugs and insects and I did not want to get the thing mad. I walked on into the next room where there was something that was familiar to me: a table. I did not go in that room because I was too busy pondering which way to go; upstairs or take a left.
Eventually, I went upstairs. When I got up, there was a wall to the left of me and a wall in front of me. I took a right, but when I turned, there, right in front of me, was a real live human! I screamed and so did the human. I was so scared, I fell down the stairs backwards and got up to see the human’s hand outstretched to help me up. As I got up, I was trembling with fear. I was so scared that I couldn’t move. My heart pounded so fast I was surprised that it didn’t come out of my chest. Suddenly, without any notice, he jumped out at me. I don’t know why, but I ran upstairs and hid under the human’s bed. The human came upstairs into his room and went to bed. I wanted to run away, but a bigger human was coming up the stairs, and this one had longer hair. The little human told it to check under his bed for monsters. I was afraid to think that there were humans under his bed. The big human checked under the bed. I dashed into the closet.
Ever since, I’ve been trapped under the bed or in the closet to avoid the humans. And that is the scariest monster I’ve ever seen!
